mog

here's some other cat drawings. quite happy with the expressions on them both - suitably cat like (blank but with a hint of malicious intent) . The top one looks a bit like one of the evil queens wolf police from Narnia ( the bbc version that is).

glamor pup

A glamorous poodle in ink. I stopped halfway through drawing the body as I was happy with how it was looking.

Skip skool

This is a video for a piece of music i made in around 2000 called "skip skool" . (the titles from a sample since cut from the movie  rumble fish).

Here's a little stop animation Jenny and Myself made in our Glasgow flat . Jenny made Sniff (the dog) from paper clips, bread ties and calico. Clever.
My contribution was as Director ( being bossy and pressing the camera button).

The music is chopped up and layered segments of a Bill Wells song. Bill Wells is a Glasgow Musician who has records out through Geographic. This little snippet was from the Pick up sticks LP.

test renders.

I thought I'd share a few test renderings of scenes from an animation short I've been working on. The working title is "Mr. Orchid in pea soup" The first clip is set in a tree house with Mr. Orchid caring for his sickly friend. The second shows the characters leaving their home and out into the forest. While the third scene has them trudging through a rain storm.

Thought I'd post a picture of my new work area.
It gets lovely morning sun and is next too my basil plant. Notice my cat shelf for my inks.

seal

Hopefully we will see some seals soon. They remind me of cats crossed with slugs. They are very strong and I've heard can shake penguins straight out of their skins before they eat them. It's meant to be the right time of year in Scotland to find them sunning themselves on the rocks. Aim to explore the rocky areas more. I am keen to do some pictures from my own photo's but this one is based on a picture in a book.

BIRO NASTYS

I found some old sketches that made me laugh. I think they're about 3 years old. Some have pretty dark homour and others are sort of sad..

first post

HazzaA! this is my first post.
This will be to share drawings and doodles.... as well as photos and video... and also to put down how i made things and what i was thinking -

.
First up is a few pictures i did today - they are all done with ink on old book covers that i saved from the trash in the 2ndhand book shop i work in. I like them to draw on because its not as daunting as brand spanking new paper and the history of scuffs and creases can give you ideas for the picture. Its fun being thrifty too.

Part of the challenge is to cover up the title if the drawings on the front cover. The two owls are on christian titles - the blue one was "the children's new testament" and the brown one was called " Biblical Psychology" (would make a great name for a song!)

I gave the lion above a friend as i wasnt that happy with the composition. Not sure if its
better now - sort of like the starkness of the original now i look back.
